Multidisciplinary Latinx artist, born in Guatemala. Díaz’s uses her body as a starting point, through performance, installation, video, collages and objects, she explores the complex essence and sublimity of being a woman in different cultural societies. The artist has represented her native country Guatemala in numerous International group exhibitions around the world, her most recent work “Nostalgia” will be presented at Somerset House - at the London Design Biennial in the United Kingdom, June 2021.
Diaz uses the limits of her feminine presence between the visible and invisible “absence and presence” of women in different contemporary societies; through performances, videos and installations, Diaz uses her body as a medium to convey her political, patriarchal, and discriminatory philosophies. There is a constant struggle in her work in which she demonstrates the inter-cultural battles as an immigrant.
Diaz lives and works in Los Angeles California.
